Although much of the day was spent engaged in last-minute preparations for FC Barcelona's visit this weekend and a Commission meeting, at the end of the day I visited Silver Tree Day Camp in Glen Park.
Tonight was parent appreciation night in which the campers, parents and staff all shared a potluck dinner and campfire. Silver Tree remains one of our more popular camps each summer. Silver Tree offers a traditional camp feel, with activities including games, hikes, nature activities, arts & crafts and an evening campfire event.
I had an opportunity to speak with recreation director Toby Wiley and received some great insight from him regarding recreation programming here in the city. Toby is a dedicated recreation professional and I’m glad we have people like him working with us.
