After some joyous time "workreating" at Camp Mather I returned to a busy week. I mostly spent Monday in staff meetings, catching up on a variety of issues. Every Monday, I try to spend 30 minutes with each of my seven direct reports. We review the week that was, the week ahead, short-term and long-term performance goals and hot issues on our plate. While I try to get out of the office each and every day to make site visits, Monday is generally an office and City Hall day. The rest of the week I can more often be found out in the field, meeting with our staff and seeing first-hand the good work that we do and the things we can improve upon.
