Vail Daily letter: Vail's short- sightedness

Once again, my disdain for the town of Vail has been reaffirmed. Seems they won't support anything if it doesn't directly benefit the demi-gods of Vail Resorts.
Obviously, none of the good old folks in charge up there in the heavens has made the trek towards Eagle or Gypsum in quite some time. A good percentage of the traffic that builds up on the woefully inadequate roadway we refer to as “Highway 6” is trying to get to the burgeoning area being developed around the airport that brings so many vacationers to their wonderful little playground in the valley.
Seems to me they have their eyes on their slice of the pie. Maybe there is a reason that the winter wonderland we lovingly refer to as Vail slipped in rankings as a destination ski resort.
Maybe the rest of the valley should carry on with business regardless of the shortsightedness of the oh-so-arrogant ones, who obviously feel they need nothing from us “commoners” downvalley.
